Physics in day-to-day at school is an exhibition based on the book “A Física no dia-a-dia” by Rómulo de Carvalho, who has marked the life of schools across the country.
Developed by the Knowledge Pavilion, the original exhibition was displayed between November 2011 and September 2012, has been adapted for roaming in schools under the program “O Mundo na Escola”, under the scientific guidance of Pedro Brogueira and Filipe Mendes, physicists and teachers at the “Instituto Superior Técnico”.
Keeping the design and concept the original exhibition, the exhibition is organized following the logic of the various rooms of a house – bedroom, living room, office, kitchen and garden – using everyday objects to explain basic principles of classical physics, bringing a new vision of the world that surrounds us. The activities offered use simple materials, such as paper clips and nails, mirrors and clocks, kettles and kitchen scales, etc.
